FAQ

Are The Ivy Club candles made with safe ingredients?

Yes, all of our candles are made with vegan organic coconut wax and non-toxic, pet safe, and natural fragrance oils.

How long will the candle burn for?

Our candles have a lifespan of up to 50 hours; however, candle times vary based on individual factors.

How do I get the best burn from my candle?

Candles form a “memory” during the first burn. Let the wax melt all the way to the edges to prevent tunneling and ensure an even, long-lasting burn.

Why is my candle tunneling and how do I fix this?

Tunneling happens when a candle isn’t burned long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges during the first few burns.

To correct existing tunneling, you can wrap a small piece of foil around the top of the jar (leaving an opening in the center) while burning — this helps the trapped heat melt the outer wax and reset the surface.

How often should I trim the wick?

Before every burn, to ¼ inch.

What happens if I don’t trim the wick?

Soot, large flames, uneven burn, and shorter lifespan of the candle.

How long should I burn my candle each time?

2–3 hours max.

Why does my candle look slightly different than others?

Each one of our candles are hand-poured in small batches. Changes in texture or finish are characteristics of premium non-toxic wax and do not affect how your candle burns or smells.

Why does the scent smell stronger when burning than cold?

When a candle is lit, the heat melts the wax and releases fragrance into the air — this is called “hot throw.” When the candle is unlit, you’re only smelling the surface of the wax, known as “cold throw,” which is naturally softer. Burning activates the full depth of the fragrance.

Can I return a burned candle?

No, a candle cannot be returned if burned. Please refer to our refund policy at the bottom of our website for more details.
